NATIONAL MUSEUM OF HEALTH AND MEDICINE HOSTS
“NATIONAL HAIRBALL AWARENESS DAY” EXHIBIT AND PROGRAM ON APRIL 27, 2008
Temporary display of human and animal hairballs on display from April 25 – May 4, 2008
April 17, 2008, Washington, D.C. – The National Museum of Health and Medicine of the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (NMHM) will commemorate National Hairball Awareness Day on Sunday, April 27, 2008 at 1:00 p.m., with a special presentation and hands-on activity for the general public. Visitors will learn why hairballs develop in the stomach and will have an opportunity to handle an actual hairball. The Museum is located on the campus of Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
Why would anybody want to handle an actual hairball? Should I be inviting people over when my two "hairball machines" do their thing? *shudders*

OMG! I TOTALLY missed it! I'm so sorry. I'll bake a cake for next year's celebration.
I also chuckled when I read your query about inviting people over because I just now posted a blog message about how to have guests over and actually enjoy them. I say, the hairballs would make for, um, interesting conversation, at least!
There, there, Heather. *offers tissue*
Dr J ,
Mmm, cake!
I better come over and read your post. I need to brush up on what proper etiquette is regarding hairballs and guests. lol
oh dear I missed it too, had I known it was in existance I would've celebrated it here with you from the other side of the world lol, maybe you could get together with friends and compare hairballs?
